Welcome to Carr Well & Pump

Conventional Water Well System

With homes served by conventional water well systems, water demand in the house is provided from the pressure tank until the “cut-in” pressure (typically 40 psi) is reached, at which point the submersible pump in the well turns on until the “cut-out” pressure (typically 60 psi) is reached, turning the pump off.  In some systems, this may result in fluctuating pressures and flows depending on how much water is being used.

Notice: With the Conventional System in place, fluctuating and inconsistent water pressure occurs. Cycle time has been sped up to increase effect.

Click on various appliances or faucets in the “virtual house” to see what happens to the system pressure.  If this is what happens in your house, you should ask your water well professional about upgrading to a constant pressure system.
